January 29, 2014Presto Finds Recipe for Expansion
Monroe, Ohio: Earlier this year, Presto Foods www.prestofoods.com a leading midwest restaurant wholesaler of pizza, Italian and deli foods was quickly running out of space in their Monroe, Ohio headquarters. Presto needed to add office space and conferencing facilities to better serve their customers in southwest Ohio. The Kiesland team had worked with Presto previously in 2005 when Presto acquired an existing building and expanded it to include freezer/cooler warehouse space. Now it was time to address the sales/administrative side of the business which had been stuffed into a less than ideal workspace.
Presto Turtlecreek Conference RoomFortunately, the building allowed for expanding the office onto an existing storage mezzanine. The challenge was to economically construct 5,000 square feet of office space on the mezzanine that would tie-in with the warehouse and the 1st-floor offices while meeting egress building codes that didn’t exist when the building was originally built. Kiesland collaborated with Architect, Mike Wentz of Wentz Design to develop a floor plan “topper” that would meet the needs for good circulation and stay within an aggressive budget. Work started in June 2011 and wrapped up in October 2011.
